Terms
Last updated 17 September 2026
These are the terms you agree to by using Sonarch. They are short on purpose: the app plays music you already have, on your own device, so there is not much to agree about. What we do with your data is a separate page — Privacy.
What Sonarch is
Sonarch is a music player for a library you already own. It reads files from your device, from folders you point it at, and from cloud accounts and servers you connect yourself.
We do not supply any music. Nothing is streamed from us, sold by us or licensed through us. Every track Sonarch plays is one you already had, and it is your responsibility to have the right to it. Use the app for files you are entitled to play.
Sonarch is not a backup. It reads your library and, where you ask it to, writes tags back into your own files. Keep your own copies of anything you would mind losing.
Your account
An account is optional — the player works without one. If you create one, you are responsible for what happens under it, including on every device you sign it in on. Sign-in is by a code sent to your email address, so keep access to that address.
You can delete your account from inside the app at any time, which is immediate and cannot be undone. Deleting it does not touch your library.
We may suspend or close an account that is being used to attack the service, to work around paying for it, or to break the law. We will say why unless we are not allowed to.
Paid features
Pro is a one-time purchase and Sync is a subscription. Both are sold through Apple, so the purchase, its price, its renewal and any refund are handled by Apple under the terms of whichever store you bought from.
Neither is on sale yet. Pro is free to everyone who joins before 2.0 and stays free for them afterwards; Sync is in beta and free to anyone signed in until 2.0, when it becomes a subscription for everybody. The rest of this section describes what happens once it is on sale.
A Sync subscription renews automatically. Apple charges your account for the next period within 24 hours of the current one ending, at the price shown when you bought it, and goes on doing so until you cancel. To stop it, cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends, in your Apple account settings — we cannot cancel or refund it for you. The length and price of each period are shown on the purchase screen before you confirm.
Pro features keep working on the device that bought them, offline and signed out. Sync needs our servers and a current subscription, and stops carrying things between devices when the subscription ends — what already arrived stays where it is.
Services that are not ours
When you connect Dropbox, OneDrive, pCloud, a WebDAV share, an S3 bucket, a Subsonic server, Last.fm, ListenBrainz or LRCLIB, you are using that service under its own terms, with your own credentials, directly from your device. We do not control those services and are not responsible for them, for what they charge, or for what they do with your account. If one of them changes or closes, the part of Sonarch that talks to it may stop working.
What we promise, and what we do not
We will run the service with reasonable care, and we will not quietly break the things this site says the app does. Beyond that, Sonarch is provided as it is. We do not promise it is free of faults, that it will suit a particular purpose, or that Sync will always be reachable.
We may change features, and we may stop offering one. If a change removes something you paid for, we will say so in the app before it takes effect.
We are not liable for anything we could not reasonably have foreseen, for lost data you had no other copy of, or for what a service that is not ours does. None of that takes away your rights as a consumer, which are set out at the end of this page.
Age
Playing music needs no account. Creating one means you are at least 16, or the lower age your own country sets, which can be anywhere down to 13.
Changes to these terms
When this page changes, the date at the top changes with it. If a change actually affects what you are agreeing to rather than how it is worded, we will say so in the app before it takes effect. Carrying on using Sonarch after that is how you accept it; if you would rather not, you can stop and delete your account.
Who we are
Sonarch is provided by Aliaksandr Siamionau. Nothing in these terms takes away the rights you have as a consumer under the law of the country you live in, including your rights against Apple as the seller.
